This is the number one question I get asked! The cards don’t really have a functional purpose - they’re simply a fun novelty item to show off your species and contact information.
FAQs
I have been asked this numerous times, but the answer is: no! The cards to not constitute any form of personal identification, regardless of the information you provide.
To manage turnaround times and workload, I will open for batches of 30 slots at a time. I will not open for another batch until the previous batch has been fulfilled. It ends up being quite an intensive period of work, so I cannot guarantee how often I will start a new batch!
You are welcome to register interest at any time. After this, you may be contacted to fill in a full form.
After you submit your full form, you will receive a PayPal invoice. No other forms of payment are accepted.
The first four card batches were to test and refine the design, so they were offered free of charge, however they were supported by donations. All future batches will have a fixed price.
The card is made from a dense paper/cardstock material, with a very pleasing matt finish.
Note that as these are not PVC cards, they are not especially durable and will easily bend. To extend the life of your card, consider storing it in a clear plastic trading card sleeve, or a ID card/badge holder. Keeping it alongside your (real) ID in a wallet also works fine!
The physical cards are printed by professional card printing service, as they can provide a far greater finish (including the fancy gloss layer) than I ever could! The cards are then sorted, packaged, and sent by me.
Every card includes an NTAG216 wet inlay NFC sticker fixed to the reverse side. The tags are visible as they are part of the overall card design. The tag will be provided blank and unlocked for you to write to yourself. Most modern smartphones have NFC reading/writing capabilities, and there are many free apps to facilitate this. Most people link the tag to a social media profile or personal website, however there are lots of creative uses for NFC tags!
You will receive two beautifully presented ID cards in a presentation wallet. Both cards come with a blank NFC tag. You may also request a digital copy of your card.
From time to time, the printing service will print an incorrect quantity of cards. If this happens and I only receive a single copy of a card, I will notify you. You will then have the option to cancel your order entirely, or proceed with a partial refund.
Unfortunately the maximum number of cards I can accommodate is 2. If you want a bulk order (50 or more), please get in touch separately.
Yes! However, it will need to be submitted separately. You cannot share a slot with another person.
No - sadly not! As they are not PVC cards, the glossy strip on the back is purely decorative and has no data storage capability.
You are free to use any SFW image of which you have the rights to print/reproduce. If you are planning to use art which has been created on your behalf by an artist, it is your responsibility to check whether you have the relevant permissions. Some artists have terms which limit the reproduction of their work (either whole or in part), so please check before submitting your artwork.
I will only ever ask for the following:
• The information you wish to appear on your card
• Your name and address (for mailing the finished card to you)
• Your choice of personal contact information (to send you card proofs, and to notify you of when your card has been shipped)
• Your PayPal email address for the invoice
All of this information will be collected in a single Google Form, and deleted once the order has been fulfilled. I will keep the digital copy of the card on file.
Yes! For orders in the UK, first class postage is included. For international orders, standard international postage is included, however this can take a while. If you wish for your card to be sent tracked/recorded, this will be an additional charge.
Every card in a batch needs to be sent to the printing service together, so turnaround times are difficult to comment on. Before all of the cards can be sent, I need to recieve approval from each person in the batch. Factoring in changes/edits, it can be a number of weeks after the form has closed for the cards to be sent off for printing. Once I receive the finished cards, they need to be sorted, packaged and shipped. You will be notified once your card is in the mail!
The best way is via Telegram @pawprintcard. You can also follow Pawprint Announcements for updates.
Once your card has been printed, you may not request a refund. If I identify any issues with your printed cards I will notify you.
Because the card represents you, and you will never be invalid!
Great! I have received extremely valuable feedback in the past, and I suspect as more people use the cards there will be more lessons to learn! Feel free to email me at [email protected], or via Telegram @pawprintcard
